I'd been trying to get rid of my belly fat for months – years. I tried the crunches, the exercise and the cycle machines.  I exercised religiously, yet I just couldn't seem to get rid of that belly fat and turn it into tight sexy abs.

Until I stumbled across this tight abs secret.

For five years, I struggled to get rid of belly fat. No matter how much I dieted or exercised, I just couldn't get rid of that ugly fat belly. In fact, it was getting bigger. It was so embarrassing I constantly wore baggy t-shirts and track pants to hide the stubborn bulge.

The thing was, I've always been slim and fit, so when this bulge began to appear I was shocked. I was even more shocked when nothing I did would make it go away.

One day, I was talking to a friend about losing weight and he got me thinking about making dietary changes.

I learned that cutting back on food isn't the answer. In fact, by not getting enough food, my body was holding onto all the fat that it could. This is the body's way of preserving itself when it senses that a famine is on the way.

I also discovered that eating later in the evening caused my body to retain the fat. That's because our metabolism slows after dinnertime so the body doesn't burn the food as well as it does earlier in the day. Instead of working off the last meal, it settled in my belly and turned to fat.

What was the solution?

Well, first I stopped eating so late. I also discovered what, exactly, constitutes a properly balanced diet. And it doesn't mean simply following the Food Guide and ensuring you got food from the 4 food groups. It's more involved than that.

The key is to put together menus that provide the right combination of alkaline and acid foods. Acid foods cause our bodies to retain fat while alkaline foods are a natural way to shed excess fat. With the right combination, we can attain a healthy yet trim body and get rid of belly fat forever.

But that wasn't all I had to do.

There are specific exercises - besides sit-ups and crunches - to tighten up the muscles underlying our bellies to develop the sexy abs that turn heads.
